Right after we started producing panels at Kronospan it became apparent that the market was requiring that our wood supply be certified. Although I was familiar with SFI (Sustainable Forest Initiative) and less familiar with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) I needed a fast path to certification. Gary was able to help us to decide exactly what type of certifications we needed, he helped us plan a path that would fit our current organizational structure and then he designed a set of documents and measurements to meet the requirements of the certification bodies. His past experience as a forest manager and forester helped him put together a practical easy to use system that we still use today.
